Announcing the College Tech Central Web 2.0 Student Survival Guide
Cats: Announcements|For the next month or so, I will be publishing a series of articles twice a week, Tuesdays and Fridays, that help students navigate the Web 2.0 landscape. We will be discussing everything from online resumes and social networks to how to get your name in Google searches. Throughout the series I’ll be sharing my experiences as I go through this entire process of branding my name online for next year’s job search and beyond.
At the same time, I will still be producing the podcast to be released on Monday morning ET in time for first period lectures. In the last week, I have made a bunch of connections through a service called Twitter. I have been bouncing ideas off social media gurus trying to tweak up the podcast a bit. Rebecca Corliss has been instrumental in the redesign of the podcast format. Instead of the twenty-five to thirty-five minute show that I have been producing up to this point, I will be organizing the show to be less than ten minutes. I am remixing the intro to take up less time while still branding the show accordingly striving to attain something similar to Get-It-Done-Guy Stever Robbins show.
I want to make the content as pertinent to you as it can be and helpful too. To help supplement the shorter show, I will be trying to reference posts that are on the site for more information and details about topics that we cover. As always, your comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated. You can drop a line at colllegetechcentral@gmail.com or call the listener hotline at 206-203-1877. Be sure to look out for tomorrow’s show, the first of the new format!

As an aside, I’m quite pleased you chose the word “instrumental” to describe my contribution to your awesome series. Regardless if you did that on purpose or not, I’m always happy to receive any music-related adjectives my way.
Really happy for you, James! Looking forward to listening.
